    I’m back…

Sorry it’s been so long since my last blog post in February 2011! Life has been a little crazy. I moved to Hawaii last year and recently moved back to Oregon. My time in Hawaii was wonderful, yet sadly it was short lived and I recently moved back. I will however always cherish my time there and the lovely people I met. Here are some pics of my favorite moments…

How are you doing regarding hip .. I have recently been diagnosed with a labral tear. I’m a big runner, spin teacher, trainer etc. and am having a very hard time with this… I’ve heard not great things about the surgery.. Just hoping to eventually become asymtomatic and just want to get back to the level I was beforehand! Please let me know how you’re doing. Are you able to run, eetc..
    thanks!

Hi Lissa, My hip is doing great. I had my surgery 1 year and 3 months ago and I am back to a higher level of performance then I was before my surgery. I had the labral tear for so long and it caused me so much pain that I didn’t realize how much it effected my performance. I had stopped running altogether in fear of the pain in my hip before the surgery. Now, I still don’t run much but I have no pain. I just want to keep it that way. I do however snowboard a lot and am back to coaching, I can run but haven’t tried long distances, I was able to surf and swim while in Hawaii, I love dancing, I’m really into barre 3 (pilates, yoga, ballet) and ride the elliptical still. I’ve endured other injuries over the years that have really taken me away from running. Its really hard on my body, but I have found other things to replace it. My surgery fixed my problem and the source of pain so it was totally worth it for me. I just had to be patient with the recovery time. I had my surgery Sept 27th 2010 and chose to take last season off of snowboarding to help with the healing and it was worth it. I came back this season much stronger. – hope this helps you :)
